PMDD Awareness Month

In April, we shine a light on premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD)  - a severe mood disorder, a severe, mood disorder that occurs in the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle, due to a hypersensitivity of the brain to normal hormonal fluctuations. PMDD affects around 1 in 20 people who menstruate. PMDD can cause debilitating emotional and physical symptoms, profoundly impacting daily life, relationships, and mental wellbeing.

Throughout PMDD Awareness Month, Over The Bloody Moon hosts virtual events, expert panels, and creative advocacy campaigns to raise visibility of this misunderstood condition. We amplify lived experiences, champion early diagnosis, and call for greater education, improved healthcare pathways, and targeted support for those living with PMDD.
